When the world is even mentioned, dad shrieks and says, “NEVER do wallpaper,” alluding to how much of a pain it was to both put up and take down. He remembers it so clearly because he finally took it down right when it is coming back into style. Stripes, silver sheen, vintage, bois, geometrics even 3D wallpaper are making their way back.

According to Matchbook Magazine’s creative director Jane Lilly Warren, preppy, geometric prints are more popular than ever in home decor and accessories. “While one could say that lattice, trellis, and fretwork-like prints are making a serious entrance as a fall trend, in reality, this timeless aesthetic has been kicking around for decades,” she says. Warren recommends looking beyond the confines of geometric-print King and Queen, Jonathan Adler and Trina Turk now that many more designers are adopting it for their own upcoming collections.
